Hamburg topples Berks Catholic in walk-off fashion

HAMBURG - Ryan Smith's 2-out single in the bottom of the 7th inning gave Hamburg (1-1, 6-1) a 6-5 win over Berks Catholic (2-1, 3-2) on Tuesday night in a key Berks II meeting.

Austin Bashore scored the winning run for Hamburg. The Hawks got a perfect 3-3 day from Jordan Youndt. Kyle Nye also added a pair of hits.

Nick Pirelli put Berks Catholic on top in the 6th inning with a 2-run single, but the lead did not hold.

Hamburg hosts Conrad Weiser on Wednesday. The Saints welcome Twin Valley, also on Wednesday.
