Softball game honors memory of teen who took his life

SHILLINGTON, Pa. - A group created to raise awareness about suicide prevention is planning more fundraisers.

The Michael A. Winson Memorial Foundation is planning to grill and sell hot dogs and burgers at Sam's Club in Muhlenberg Township this fall.

This past weekend, the group hosted a softball game at Governor Mifflin High School in honor of Winson, who took his own life in May.

Family members are trying to keep his memory alive.

"We're doing all kinds of presentations throughout the country as well as creating scholarships for students who are interested in the emergency medical field in honor of my little brother, Michael," said Corey Winson, organizer.

Michael was working on his EMT certificate before his death.
