Spring-Ford girls excited to defend state title

Spring-Ford girls look to defend state title

ROYERSFORD - One could say the Spring-Ford girls won the triple crown last season, capturing the state, District and league championships. The Rams won 32 games in coach Jeff Rinehimer's final season, a swan song that will be remembered for some time.

The state title was the first in any sport for Spring-Ford.

It's now up to all-state player Sammy Stipa and new head coach Mickey McDaniel to defend it.

Stipa just hit the 1,000 career point mark a few days ago against Archbishop Molloy out of New York, but the Rams lost their first game since last January.

It's part of a brutal non-conference schedule that Spring-Ford has created as the Rams prepare for everyone's best shot.
