Student wins Berks County spelling bee two years in a row

Berks County has a new spelling bee champion.

By correctly spelling "sassafras," Emily Gunkel was crowned the county champion for the second year in a row.

The Schuylkill Valley Middle School student beat out 39 others for the title.

Emily will now head to the National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C. in May.
