Students celebrate reading in Reading

READING, Pa. - The city of Reading is getting a bit of a makeover, albeit in name only.

You may have noticed a little mark over the "e" on the sign welcoming you to the city on Penn Street. That's called a macron, and it changes the pronunciation of Reading to reading.

It's all part of an effort by the Muhlenberg School District to expand students' vocabularies and encourage reading.

The students dawned colored t-shirts to create their own "reading rainbow" on Friday.
