Jose Louis Negron charged in deadly shooting of Luis Rosario-Rosario

Reading homicide suspect turns himself in

READING, Pa. - A man wanted in a homicide in Reading surrendered to police hours after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Jose Louis Negron turned himself in at police headquarters in Reading shortly before 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Negron, 25, is facing charges in the deadly shooting of Luis Rosario-Rosario, 22, near the victim's home in an alley behind the 400 block of Schuylkill Avenue on June 21.

The shooting was possibly the result of an earlier altercation nearby, investigators said.

Rosario-Rosario's shooting death is one of five homicides to have occurred in Reading in recent weeks. One of them, however, appears to be justified, police said.
