Temple to kick off 2017 Halloween parade season in Berks

MUHLENBERG TWP., Pa. - Ghouls and goblins are set to begin making their traditional trek through the streets of Berks County this weekend.

The Temple Halloween parade will get the season started on Saturday at 6 p.m. More than 75 marching bands, fire companies, car groups, youth organizations, and business floats will make their way along Kutztown Road from the Muhlenberg Elementary Center to Mount Laurel Road.

Spots along the parade route were already being reserved with chairs and blankets Friday morning.

The rain date is Sunday at 4 p.m.


Topton will follow with its annual Halloween parade on Saturday, October 14, at 7 p.m. It's organized by the Topton Community Outreach Club.


The Bally Lions Club will present its annual parade for the borough on Tuesday, October 17, at 7 p.m. The parade will follow a new route this year, starting at North Fourth and Main streets and following Main Street to North Seventh Street and then Chestnut Street.


The Lions Club of Spring Township will sponsor the 42nd annual Wilson Area Halloween Parade on Wednesday, October 18, at 7 p.m. John Lebo of Lebo's Pedal Parlor will serve as the parade's grand marshal.

Rain date is Thursday, October 19.


The Birdsboro Rotary Club will present Birdsboro's annual Halloween parade on Thursday, October 19, at 7 p.m. Free candy and cider will be offered after the parade.

Rain date is Wednesday, October 25.


The Oley Fire Company will sponsor a Halloween parade on Saturday, October 21, at 1 p.m. Parking is available at the Oley Fire Company fairgrounds.


The Boyertown Halloween parade, sponsored by the Boyertown Jaycees, is set for Saturday, October 21, at 7 p.m.

Rain date is Sunday, October 22.


The Mohnton-Cumru Lions Club will present its Great Pumpkin Parade on Saturday, October 21, at 7 p.m., starting in the Northridge section of Mohnton. Spectators can use the public parking area on Wyomissing Avenue.


The 54th annual King Frost Parade, sponsored by the Hamburg Jaycees, will step off in Hamburg at 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 28.

Rain date is Saturday, November 4.
