Thousands bid farewell at service for East Penn CEO

MAXATAWNY TWP., Pa. - Thousands of mourners turned out Friday to pay their respects to the CEO of East Penn Manufacturing.

A celebration of life memorial service was held for Sally Miksiewicz inside the O'Pake Field House on the campus of Kutztown University.

Miksiewicz, 52, was the daughter of East Penn's founder and chairman, DeLight Breidegam Jr. She joined the company after graduating from Moravian College in Bethlehem in 1984 and became its CEO in 2009.

Miksiewicz died last Friday when she was hit by a pickup truck while jogging near her home in Pike Township.
