Tim Mertz resigns as Kutztown baseball coach

KUTZTOWN - Tim Mertz has resigned as head coach of the Kutztown Cougars baseball team. He leaves a storied legacy at Kutztown, departing with the most wins in program history.

Mertz won 266 games in 17 seasons at the helm of the Cougars. He took them to a state final in 2007 on top of a combined 3 titles at the district and county level.

This year's swan song featured a cinderella run to the county finals. Kutztown also played in the District III title game before falling in the state tournament.
