Time to hit slopes at Bear Creek Mountain Resort

Berks County ski resort opens Saturday

LONGSWAMP TWP., Pa. - Bear Creek Mountain Resort in Berks County is set to begin its 50th season this weekend.

The slopes are set to open at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Snowmaking efforts started last Friday and were helped by Mother Nature, who added a few inches Thursday morning.

Crews have been working 12-hours shifts to prepare for the season, and the mountains operations manager reported that conditions on Friday were "optimal" for snowmaking.

WFMZ's Alexandra Hogan visited the slopes in Longswamp Township to check out preparations for another season, which includes new pass options.
