Todd Iaeger, Reading fire marshal, stepping down to take job in North Carolina

READING, Pa. - Reading's fire marshal is stepping down to begin the next chapter of his professional career.

Todd Iaeger announced his resignation from the Reading Fire Department on Tuesday. His last day on the job will be this Saturday.

Iaeger is leaving Reading to become fire marshal in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Iaeger began working for Reading as a police officer in 1990, working for the mounted patrol unit. He then transferred to the fire department as a firefighter in 1997. He was promoted to fire marshal in 2005.

The fire department is now trying to decide between two candidates to fill his role in Reading, Iaeger said.
