Toddler run over by car in Berks County identified

Child run over by car, killed

EXETER TWP., Pa. - A 17-month-old child who died after being run over by a vehicle in Berks County has been identified.

The accident happened around 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Exeter Friends Meeting House at Boone and Meetinghouse roads in Exeter Township.

Evelyn Steinruck was playing with other children outside the meeting house when the kids ran out behind a car as it was backing up, police said.

The little girl was trapped under the vehicle before being rescued by emergency officials, police said.

The toddler, from Parker Ford, East Coventry Twp., Chester Co., died after being flown to a hospital.

Officials said there will be no autopsy as the death was ruled an accident.
