Tractor trailer takes sharp turn, stops short of tipping onto side

MAXATAWNY TWP., Pa. - The driver of a tractor trailer found himself in a tough spot Thursday afternoon.

The big rig was attempting to make a sharp right turn from Long Lane Road onto a small street behind Valentino's Restaurant in Maxatawny Township when the right rear wheels of the trailer got hung up on an embankment, officials said.

The driver, who was not injured, stopped the truck, with the empty trailer resting at a steep angle.

Emergency crews responded to make sure the truck wasn't in danger of rolling onto its side. A tow truck was called in to straighten out the problem.
