Truck goes off road, slams into tree in Wernersville

WERNERSVILLE, Pa. - The driver of a truck was taken to the hospital after the vehicle went off the road and hit a tree.

The accident happened shortly before 3:30 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of East Penn Avenue in Wernersville.

A police officer told 69 News that he believes the driver hit the brakes and swerved to avoid traffic in front of him, causing the truck to go up and over curb. The cab then became wedged between the tree and a wall in front of a home.

The driver's trip to the hospital was for an evaluation, possibly of a leg injury, police said.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
