Tulpehocken, Oley earn District title shots

HERSHEY - The Tulpehocken girls and Oley Valley boys soccer teams won their District III semi-finals in Hershey in Monday night. The Trojans and Lynx will compete for District championships on Thursday.

At Hershey High School, Alexis and Myriah Troutman scored to lead Tulpehocken over York Catholic, 2-1. Myriah's goal proved to be the game-winner, and sent the Trojans to the District III-A championship game Thursday night at Hersheypark Stadium against Halifax.

Earlier that night at Hershey High School, the Wyomissing girls fell to Trinity, 3-1, in the AA semifinals. Trinity scored twice in the first 15 minutes of the game.

Micah Miller scored the only goal for the Spartans, who can still earn a spot in the state tournament with a win in the third-place game.

Over at Hersheypark Stadium, Ben Kerkeslager scored a goal with two minutes left in the second overtime, lifting the Oley Valley boys to a 1-0 win over Susquehannock.

Ryan Krall was brilliant in net for the Lynx, posting the clean sheet and five saves.

Oley will play defending state champion Pequea Valley in the District III-AA finals on Thursday back at Hersheypark Stadium.
