Two-alarm fire reported at Topton business

Turned out to be a malfunctioning furnace

TOPTON, Pa. - A two-alarm fire reported Thursday afternoon at Advanced Carbon Industries in Topton turned out to be a malfunctioning furnace.

The business is at 220 N. Main St. in Topton.

A second alarm was struck around 4:09 p.m., but apparently only because of heat generated by the furnace.

Fire officials reported the furnace again was operating normally by around 4:45 p.m. and that there was no damage to the building and no injuries.
