Union president: 40 teachers getting jobs back

READING, Pa. - It appears 40 furloughed teachers in the Reading School District will be getting their jobs back.

The president of the Reading teachers union says the teachers were rehired because of retirements, resignations and restructuring in the district.

The president says the Reading School Board will likely approve the move next week.

Two hundred thirty-one teachers in the district had lost their jobs because of budget cuts in June.
