Wanted in Berks: Floyd Patterson

Suspect sought in attack of homeless man in Reading

READING, Pa. - Authorities are intensifying their search for a man sought in connection with the brutal beating of a homeless man in Reading.

Floyd Patterson is the only one of four suspects still on the loose. He's facing assault charges in connection with the beating of a homeless man inside the Penn Street Laundromat on Jan. 12.

The victim, who had been seeking shelter from the brutal cold, died Tuesday, but investigators have not yet determined whether the attack played a role in his death.

Patterson, 23, is a black man who stands 6 feet tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has black eyes and black hair.

His last known address is a first floor rear apartment at 920 Washington St., police said. Anyone who knows of Patterson's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Alert Berks County at 877-373-9913.
