Will live pigeon shoots continue in Berks County?

Officer against using live piegons as targets

PERRY TWP., Pa. - A state Humane Society officer has filed an emergency court action in hopes of preventing live pigeon shoots in Berks County.

The pigeon shoots at Wing Pointe in Perry Township have been the subject of protests in the past.

A hearing was held Wednesday morning seeking a preliminary injunction to prevent the shoots, but it was denied.

A state Senate committee approved a bill earlier this year to ban using live animals as targets but the bill has not made it through the rest of the state legislature yet.
