Bulldogs sweep Mustangs in field hockey and soccer

BERKS COUNTY - Wilson West Lawn defeated rival Governor Mifflin in both field hockey and girls soccer on Wednesday. The win gave the Bulldogs sole possession of Berks I in both sports.

In Shillington, the Wilson field hockey team tallied a 2-0 win over the Mustangs. Margaret Lillis and Avery Marz scored the goals for the Bulldogs, both coming early in the first half.

Azure Fernsler had six saves for Wilson (4-0, 5-4).

The Bulldogs host Perkiomen Valley on Saturday morning. Governor Mifflin (3-1, 5-3) visits Muhlenberg on Monday.


In Spring Township, the Wilson girls soccer team edged Governor Mifflin, 2-1. Shannon O'Brien scored Wilson's goal in the first half. Sienna Zittle responded with the equalizer for the Mustangs.

But with ten minutes left in the second half, Carly Pandit scored a header off a cross from Rachel Hafer to give the Bulldogs the victory.

Wilson (4-0, 7-0) hosts Emmaus on Saturday evening. Governor Mifflin (3-1, 6-3) welcomes Whitehall to town Saturday.
