Wilson boys roll, Mustangs struggle in opener

BERKS COUNTY - The Wilson West Lawn boys basketball team rolled over Wyomissing in its season opener on Friday. Governor Mifflin, on the other hand, struggled in a loss to Lancaster Catholic.

Behind a team-high 11 points from Sam Smith, the Bulldogs (1-0) dropped the Spartans (0-1), 55-29, at Wilson High School.

Wyo's Chase Hartman led all scorers with 13 points.

In Shillington, Governor Mifflin (0-1) struggled in its first game with their new talent. The Mustangs fell to Lancaster Catholic, 53-41.

The Mustangs trailed by 15 at halftime and could not recover. Wilson transfer SteVan Rodriguez paced Mifflin with 14 points.
