Wilson WL boys set sights on championships

Wilson WL boys gearing up for big season

SPRING TOWNSHIP - The Wilson West Lawn boys are expected to be one of the major players on the Berks boys basketball scene this season. Anchored by versatile playmaker Travaun Coad, the Bulldogs are poised for a big year.

Matt Coldren's team enters this season riding a wave of momentum. Wilson captured the Stellar Tournament championship over the summer and the team has continued to impress him with its work ethic the entire offseason.

Jaylin Calloway, Sam Smith and Matt Timochenko are expected to be key contributors in Wilson's lineup other than Coad. The team's size took a hit with the transfer of SteVan Rodriguez to Governor , but the team thinks its defense can negate that in time.

The Bulldogs open with Wyomissing on Friday. Wilson made the county, district and state tournaments last season.
