Wilson girls return to District final; BC boys back on track

The Wilson West Lawn girls were the big winners from Berks County on Monday night, advancing to the District 3-AAAA championship game. The Oley Valley girls came up short in their semifinal while the Berks Catholic boys got back on track.

At the Giant Center, the (4) Wilson WL girls ran away from top-seeded and undefeated Manheim Township, 66-42, in the District-AAAA semifinals.

The Bulldogs, the defending District champions, got a game-high 19 points from Carley Brew. Avery Marz and Jessie Wallace each scored 15 points, with Ivory Bailey adding another 10.

It was the 15th straight win for Wilson, who will play either Cumberland Valley or Dover in the championship game Friday night.

At Warwick High School in Lititz, the (3) Oley Valley girls fell to (2) Delone Catholic, 49-34, in a District 3-AA semifinal.

Brandi Vallely led the way for the Lynx with 10 points. Oley Valley scored just 9 points in the 2nd and 3rd quarters.

The Lynx will try to clinch a state tournament spot in the third-place game on Thursday against Camp Hill.

At Central Dauphin East High School, the (4) Berks Catholic boys pulled away from (8) Lancaster Mennonite, 58-42, in a District 3-AAA play back game.

Nana Foulland scored a game-high 21 points for the Saints, who will play West York in the fifth-place game on Thursday.
