Wilson WL finds success and heartbreak in Hershey

HERSHEY, Pa. - The second-seeded Wilson West Lawn girls advanced to theDistrict III AAAA championship game with a 52-43 win over Central Dauphin East on Tuesday night at the Giant Center.

Wilson's Avery Marz tied a game-high with 14 points. Jessie Wallace added 11 to help pace the Bulldogs.

Wilson led by two at halftime, but they they outscored C.D. East by six in the third quarter to help pull away.

The Bulldogs will meet (4) Central Dauphin in the District title game on Friday at 8:30 in the Giant Center.


Later in the night, the fourth-seeded Wilson boys were edged at the buzzer by top-seeded Harrisburg, 58-56, in the District III AAAA semifinals.

The Cougars' Shaquon Sheppard had a putback at the buzzer to send Harrisburg into the District III title game.

Wilson's Travaun Coad had a monster game, pouring in a game-high 25 points. SteVan Rodriguez also scored in double figures for Wilson with 10 points.

The Bulldogs held a lead in the fourth quarter, but could not pull away for the upset.

Wilson will face (2) McCaskey on Thursday in the third-place game at a time and location to be determined.
