SPRING TWP. - The Wilson West Lawn football team will play for the program's 500th win on Friday night when the Bulldogs visit JP McCaskey in the Lancaster-Lebanon League opener for both teams.
The Bulldogs will also try for their 37th straight L-L League win.
Wilson (3-0) is coming off a 46-6 rout of rival Reading High, the final meeting in a long-standing rivalry. The Bulldogs have coasted through their non-league schedule, a slate that looked challenging in the preseason.
But Wilson is no victim to the whims of sportswriters.
McCaskey (0-3) has been slow out of the gates. The Red Tornado lost to Reading High and they don't figure to match up well with Wilson. In fact, Bulldogs head coach Doug Dahms relishes the chance to play teams with versatile play-makers because it makes his defense better.
Just ask Reading and Harrisburg.
