WWII weekend to feature GEICO Skytypers

BERN TWP., Pa. - The  27th Annual World War II Weekend runs Friday through Sunday at the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum in Bern Township.

Folks can expect to see more than 50 World War II aircraft on display -- most of which will fly in this weekend's air shows.

This year for the first time, the air show will feature the GEICO Skytypers Air Show Team.

Six SNJs built in the early 1940s, and once used to train Navy pilots, are now Skytypers.

The 22-minute show will wow with its precise formations of letters as tall as the Empire State building that can seen for miles.

The Skytypers will be flying Friday at 3:43 p.m. and Saturday  and Sunday at 4:13 p.m.

The three-day long event also has everything from 1940s entertainment, war-time vehicles, and memorabilia.

Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum.
