Wyomissing postpones 4th of July celebration

WYOMISSING, Pa. - Folks in one Berks County community will have to wait a day to celebrate the Fourth of July.

Rain forced Wyomissing officials to postpone Friday's planned Independence Day festivities, including the parade. The events will now be held Saturday.

In addition to the parade, the borough's police department plans to celebrate its 100th anniversary.

The events, with the theme "America's winning spirit," will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday.
