Biddle strikes out 16 as Reading tops Harrisburg

Jesse Biddle, the top prospect in the Phillies organization, turned in a dazzling performance in Reading's 3-2 win at Harrisburg Monday night.

In just his fourth Double-A start, Biddle retired the first 19 batters in order before losing the perfect game bid with one out in the seventh inning.

Biddle (2-1, 2.16) struck out a career-high 16 in seven sparkling innings, allowing only one hit and walking none.

Biddle also went 2-for-3 at the plate, with a single and a double.
