Bikers "Ride For Wise"

READING, Pa. - Berks County bikers hit the pavement this weekend to honor police officers killed in the line of duty.

Sunday was the 6th Annual Ride for Wise.

It's named after Reading Officer Michael Wise, who was killed in the line of duty on June 5, 2004.

Money raised from the event will benefit a foundation that has been established in memory of Wise.

Organizers said the event is a great way to thank officers for what they do on a daily basis.

"I do it just out of willingness to keep people aware of what Mike sacrificed and what we as Police Officers do every day," said Bruce Monteiro, an organizer of the event.

The ride started at Reading Area Community College and ended up in Cleona, passing Wise's grave site along the way.
