Blast Victims' Family Settles With UGI

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The family of William and Beatrice Hall announced Saturday they reached a confidential settlement with UGI Utilities. The settlement is over a wrongful death lawsuit filed after the 13th and Allen street gas explosion in Allentown on February 9th.

In a statement issued by his attorney, the son of William and Beatrice said his parents were truly special people.

"They were honest and kind and true and loyal friends," Mark Hall said. "They cared deeply about the community where they lived and were committed to playing their part to better the lives of the entire Allentown community."

UGI spokesman Dan Adamo told 69 News, the company was happy it learned of the many good deeds the Hall family did for the community.

He said UGI knows it has a responsibility to keep its customers safe.

Adamo said the company expects reports from investigations into the February 9th explosion to be released in the near future.

The explosion claimed the lives of the Halls, as well as three other people living at 13th and Allen streets.
