Cars broken into at fitness centers in Berks County

EXETER TWP., Pa. - Police are trying to track down the men responsible for breaking into several cars in fitness center parking lots all across Berks County.

Wyomissing police said the calls started coming in around 4 p.m. Tuesday. They started at LA Fitness in the 1100 block of Berkshire Boulevard in Wyomissing, police said.

The criminals then broke into four vehicles parked in the parking lot in front of Gold's Gym in the 4200 block of Perkiomen Avenue in Exeter Township, police said.

Two more vehicles were targeted in the parking lot of Planet Fitness in the Fairgrounds Square Mall in Muhlenberg Township.

Finally, another two break-ins were reported in the parking lot for Flying Hills Fitness in Cumru Township.

All the break-ins happened within a two-and-a-half hour period of time, investigators said.

The robbers have been described by witnesses as two black males, authorities said.
Police say they were driving a black Ford Explorer.
