Charges held for trial for man accused in neighbor's death

WARMINSTER, Pa. - A Bucks County man charged in connection with the shooting death of an elderly woman during a police stand-off is heading to trial.

A preliminary hearing was held today for Andrew Cairns.

He's facing homicide and other charges for the death of his neighbor 89-year-old Marie Zienkewicz.

She was shot back in February during a standoff between Cairns and Warminster Township police.

Investigators say a police officer fired the fatal shot but Cairns is charged with the crime because they say his actions set the deadly chain of events in motion.
