Cloyd called up, will pitch on Friday

Cloyd called up by Phillies, will start Friday

The Phillies have announced that Tyler Cloyd has been tapped to replace Halladay, at least for now, in their starting rotation.

Cloyd will make his 2013 Phillies debut on Friday night in Arizona.

Cloyd joins Jonathan Pettibone as the second IronPigs starter to be called up to the Phillies this year.

Cloyd was the International League's Pitcher of the Year last year, and he did pitch some for the Phillies last year as well.

He's coming off his best outing of the year, in which he struck out 10 for the IronPigs in a win over Indianapolis last Friday.
