Cops say mother attacked daughter over pregnancy

Police in Lehigh County have charged a mother with assaulting and threatening to kill her pregnant, school-age daughter.

Police say Alexandria Achim's parents kicked her out after learning about her pregnancy.

On Tuesday, after her parents told her to come home, her mother, Magdalena Mateia-Bitlan, asked her to have an abortion.

Achim said she was keeping the baby and, police say, her mother threw her out.

Police also say Achim's mother assaulted her, punching her in the abdomen.

Achim also says her mother threatened to kill her and her baby as she fled.
