Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett is speaking out for the first time since the firing of legendary Penn State football coach Joe Paterno.
The governor says he wishes Paterno did more after telling university officials about child molestation accusations against former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky.
Corbett says he and his fellow university trustees were right to fire Paterno.
"As governor and as a board of trustee," said Corbett. "I have to do what is in the best of the university and in the state of Pennsylvania. I know everybody isn't going to like it."
Before his death in January, Paterno had said he wished he'd done more.
Sandusky is accused of sexually assaulting 10 young boys. He denies those charges.
