Coroner called to crash in West Penn Township

Appears to be a one-car crash.

WEST PENN TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A one-car crash in West Penn Township, Schuylkill County, killed a man Friday night.

Authorities say the crash occurred around 7:30 near the intersection of Mantzville Road and Route 443.

A 69 News crew on scene says it appears the driver of a Jeep Wrangler may have lost control and flipped, ultimately landing on its tires.

The body of the unidentified driver, who was thrown from the vehicle, could be seen lying in the roadway.

The roadway was closed for several hours as police investigated.

There’s no word on the cause of the crash or the identity of the deceased.
