Coroner called to scene of second deadly accident in Berks County

First fatal accident of the day in Richmond Twp. happened 10 hours earlier

Deadly day on Richmond Township roads

RICHMOND TWP., Pa. - The coroner has responded to another fatal accident in Richmond Township, Berks County.

It happened at Kutztown and Krause roads, near the end of the Kutztown Bypass, at around 4:36 p.m. Wednesday.

According to officials, a car was heading south on Route 222.

They said traffic was stopped at the light at the intersection of Routes 222 and 662 and the car slammed into the back of a tractor trailer.

The top of the car was sheared off.

D. Seth Fuoti, 21, from Blandon, was killed in the crash, the coroner said.

Earlier Wednesday, a Centre Township man, 28-year-old Matthew Bortz, was killed when his motorcycle collided head-on with a tractor trailer at Park and Lenhart roads in Richmond Township.
