Couple charged with child endangerment, drugs

Charles and Aigulia Boykins left toddler unsupervised, police say.

EASTON, Pa. - An Easton couple is facing charges after police say they left their 19-month-old unsupervised with prescription drugs nearby.

Thirty-nine-year-old Aigulia and 35-year-old Charles Boykins of 1004 Elm Street were arrested Friday around 7:30 p.m. after police found multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia in and around the living room, and both parties appeared to be under the influence of controlled substances, police said.

Officers learned the couple's toddler daughter was upstairs unsupervised, and went to check on her.

According to police, officers found her with feces on her, and a dirty diaper right next to her. In addition, a drawer full of prescription medicines was opened into the Play and Pack the child was in, police said.

Aigulia and Charles Boykins were each charged with endangering the welfare of a child, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

They were taken to the Northampton County Prison after being unable to post $5,000 bail each.

Charles' preliminary hearing is set for March 24.
