Crash closes intersection in Northampton County

Four people were injured in Tuesday morning crash in Lehigh Township.

LEHIGH TWP., Pa. - Police are investigating a crash that sent four people to the hospital and closed an intersection in Northampton County on Tuesday morning.

The accident happened around 9 a.m. at Riverview Drive/Route 145 and Washington Drive in Lehigh Township, about a quarter-mile north of Birch Drive.

Witnesses told police a car driven by David Wanamaker, 51, of Slatington, was trying to turn left onto Washington from Riverview. His car was hit by a car driven by Leroy Goldberg, 78, of Lehighton.

Wanamaker and his passenger, Andrew Warner, 25, of Kunkletown, were taken by ambulance to St. Luke's Hospital, police said.

Goldberg was flown by helicopter to St. Luke's for multiple injuries.

His passenger, Audrey Goldberg, 74, was taken by ambulance to St. Luke's.

Officials closed the intersection while crews cleared up the accident.
