Kevin Allen found dead inside father's burning apartment on Feb. 12

Arrest to be announced in homicide case

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Authorities have made an arrest in the killing of a 17-year-old boy near Pottstown.

Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan will announce details of the arrest in a news conference Wednesday morning.

Kevin Allen was found dead inside his father's apartment in North Coventry Twp., Chester Co., on Feb. 12, officials said. The boy's body was found after firefighters responded to a fire at the apartment.

Hogan, who declined comment on how Allen died, has said the homicide was not random and that the killer left behind helpful clues for investigators.

Allen lived with his mother in Norristown and was visiting his father in North Coventry Township at the time he was killed.

The homicide was the township's first in 40 years, police said.
