Dent Testifies; Asks Congress To Ban Synthetic Drugs

A Lehigh County congressman is seeking a federal ban on synthetic drugs.

Congressman Charlie Dent testified before a House Committee Thursday about federal legislation to abolish so-called bath salts and other synthetic drugs.

Dent introduced that legislation.

It would ban compounds that mimic the high of marijuana and other drugs but are still legal.

Similar legislation was signed into law in Pennsylvania earlier this year by Governor Tom Corbett.
