Eagles bolster defense with three free agent signings

The Eagles bolstered their defense through free agency on Thursday, agreeing to terms with linebacker Connor Barwin, cornerback Cary Williams, and safety Kenny Phillips.

The Birds signed the three players in about a two-hour span late Thursday afternoon.

Barwin, a good young linebacker from the Texans, reportedly will get $36M over six years.

Williams, a cornerback from the world champion Ravens, gets a reported $17M over three years.

Phillips, an injury-prone but talented safety from the Giants, signed a one-year deal.  The financial details of that deal were not disclosed.
