Erie hands Fightin Phils first home loss

The Fightin Phils lost at home for the first time this season on Saturday, dropping a 9-5 decision to Erie at FirstEnergy Stadium.

The Sea Wolves scored four times in the 2nd inning and four more in the 4th to put the game out of reach.

Austin Wright (0-1, 9.00), who walked five straight batters at one point, lasted only one inning to take the loss for Reading.

John Suomi homered for the Fightin Phils, and Edgar Duran, Ronnie Welty, and Jim Murphy all had two hits.

The Fightin Phils (5-4) will round out their series with Erie on Sunday at 1:35pm in Baseballtown.
