Exeter Twp. School Board votes no to merger with Antietam School District

A school district in Berks County has voted against a proposed merger.

The Exeter Township School Board voted 8-0 with one abstention against merging with the Antietam School District during a meeting Tuesday night. But board members did approve a plan to share services.

Opponents of the merger were concerned about overcrowding and tax hikes, while supporters said a larger student body could create more opportunities for students.

We'll have much more on the vote coming up on the Berks Edition at 10:30.
