Expect traffic delays overnight at Easton-Phillipsburg bridge

EASTON, Pa. - If you need to use the Easton-Phillipsburg Toll Bridge Wednesday night, either expect delays or try another route.

According to the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, drivers may run into traffic stoppages of up to 15 minutes between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 2 a.m. Thursday in both directions on Route 22 at the bridge.

The stoppages are needed to allow contractors to clean the highway surface of project-related residue, officials said.

The restrictions will be at various intervals along either direction.

Officials said the schedule may change, depending on weather, emergency and traffic considerations.

More information on the bridge rehabilitation project is available at the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission website.
