READING, Pa. - The Reading Fightin Phils fell to Richmond, 7-4, on Wednesday at FirstEnergy Stadium. Reading took two of three in the series.
Albert Cartwright and Derrick Mitchell homered for Reading, but Richmond broke a 4-4 tie in the eighth inning with three runs that proved to be the difference.
Reading starter Seth Rosin, who was named an Eastern League All-Star earlier in the day, pitched four innings and allowed two runs. The shortened appearance was due to a brief rain delay early in the game.
The Fightins will begin a five-game series in Trenton on Thursday, the team's final series of the first half.
