Fire breaks out in hot water heating room at Weisenberg Elementary

WEISENBERG TWP., Pa. - A fire broke out in the hot water heating room at Weisenberg Elementary School Saturday.

Crews on scene say one of the heaters broke, starting an electrical fire. That fire melted some plastic and filled the school with smoke, triggering the alarms and fire prevention system.

Firefighters say the fire was contained to the hot water heating room.

The school is closed Monday. Students were already scheduled off for Columbus Day.

The school should be back open Tuesday.
