A 31-year-old McAdoo man confessed to police about setting the fire

Fire damages McAdoo business

MCADOO, Pa. - Fire destroyed a building early Thursday in Schuylkill County.

The two-alarm fire was reported around 12:30 a.m. at 94 N. Kennedy Drive in McAdoo. The building houses Gene's Grey Goose Pub and Grill.

Officials said no injuries were reported.

Authorities are still looking into what caused the blaze.  

Police said a person who confessed to setting the fire is in custody but won't be charged with arson until the fire marshal's office completes an investigation.

The man was identified as Scott Branz, 31, of McAdoo. He is currently facing charges of burglary, criminal trespass and related charges.

Crews battled another blaze around the same time, in Rush Township.
