Four area wrestlers win PIAA 2A state titles

Four wrestlers from our 69 Sports coverage area brought home state gold on Saturday at the PIAA 2A Championships at the Giant Center.

Bethlehem Catholic senior Darian Cruz won his second straight state title, beating Bedford's Ryan Easter 9-2 in the 120-pound final.  Cruz, who won his 150th career match in the quarterfinals, finishes the year at 44-1.

Fellow Golden Hawks Luke Karam and Zeke Moisey each lost by fall in their state championship bouts.  Becahi won the team title for the fourth consecutive year.

At 145 pounds, Pen Argyl's Mikey Racciato closed out his career by winning his third consecutive state title, beating Benton's Colt Cotten, 8-2.  The win capped an undefeated season for Racciato.

At 170 pounds, Brandywine senior Pete Renda also capped off an undefeated season with state gold, beating Bermudian Springs' Tristan Sponseller by a 5-2 decision.

At 220 pounds, Saucon Valley senior Ray O'Donnell captured state gold with a 2-0 win over Lewisburg's Brandon Smith.  O'Donnell finishes the year at 44-3.
