Garden State's high school graduation rate rising

More kids graduating from hs in NJ

TRENTON, N.J. - More high school students are graduating in New Jersey.

The Garden State's graduation rate has gone up for the second year in a row.

Officials say it's now at 87.5 percent, which is one percentage point higher than
last year.

The rates rose for students as a whole in 2013, as well as several subgroups including blacks, Hispanic, Asian, and white students.

The rate went down for students with limited English-language proficiency.
